Music made of electronic sounds combined with acoustic gimmicks and words reflecting our thoughts on today’s world might best describe our creative work. We pursue what people call regular jobs for a living, but our music is by far our bigger passion! We enjoy getting together and experimenting with new ideas turning them into projects by using very little and simple resources. We basically only need laptops and a small cellar space for our recordings. We believe that ‘less is more’. This helps us to focus on the main aspect of our artistic work, music itself.
The beginnings of Mind Reflection's musical journey are set in the late 80s when Mark as a child composed first melodies on the piano and when Chris started as a DJ in a youth club. Being friends at school the idea eventually arose to try to produce music together. Mark and Chris made their dream come true a couple of years later. They converted Mark’s first tiny apartment into a home studio. The initial setup included self-made custom furnishings for their keyboards, synthesizers, samplers, effect devices, mixers and more. Later Murielle joined as a singer. Due to work as well as personal events (life happens) we gave up our studio and turned to a new setup with only minimal hardware requirements. Today this allows us to produce music in a more efficient way.
Even though music is not our main profession we are looking back on various musical highlights in the past which we have enjoyed (and which we are a bit proud of also). The following ‘old’ tracks and projects still trigger unforgettable memories.
In The Night (2am) - no. 1 trance track on mp3.com in 2002
Da Roots (folk mix) - part of "In The Groove" (dance game) by Roxor Games (from 2004) and underlying track of a line dance choreography designed by Alison Johnstone and copied in various countries (from 2013)
Your Way - a pop ballad from 2003 and one of the first songs with Murielle, including a cellist as a guest
several joint productions with artists from around the world such as Sherreece (U.S.), Digital Explosion (Finland), Akiko Toya (Japan) and others
various musical productions for performances of a local gym club at the Swiss Championships (from 1997)
last but not least the release of our first album "This World" in 1998
Not only do those former pieces of our work provide great memories, but they also fuel future projects thanks to the overwhelming attention and positive feedback they received. We are thankful for reaching so many people from all different parts of the world.
